Dell R640 drive carriers U.2
Hello,
the new 8 NVMe drive R640 look like a good platform for scale out SSD servers, however the available Samsung SSDs offered by Dell are ultra premium priced and not as flexible as offerings like for example the Intel DC series.
Has anybody experience with aquiring U.2 caddies for 2,5" NVMe drives? I am looking for non-production systems and am awre that I wont get supported with the drives in the machine, but still there should be a option to use them.
I have good experiences with HHHL express cards, but would like to have the comfort of front-accessible drives instead.
I am specifically looking for experiences and maybe a good source for the carriers/caddies and article number.
