Firmware for Maxtor Hard Drives
Hello everybody,
we have a problem with one server here in our farm.
The machine crashes unexpected and without any sign.
We have checked all the software and hardware. Server Administrator
says everythings well on the machine. Software (OS and Server Software)
is also without problems. Nearly every two weeks the server crashes at
different day times. One thing we noticed is not update to date, harddrive
firmware. We found one download for our Power Edge 2650 machine:
We have a RAID 1 with 2x 18GB and 2x 73GB and PERC3/Di Controller.
The 18GB Harddisk is Maxtor ATLAS 15K Ultra320 Pin80 SCSI.
The Firmware is DT60.
The download link describes that the firmware download is for Maxtor Aurora Harddrives,
but when i download the file and open the readme it,it says it is for Maxtor ATLAS Harddrives.
How to flash the harddrives with the Diskette? I tried it but the program says always
error opening ASPI Driver. I have tried everything loading aspi driver with the diskette.
Is the aspi driver too old for newest firmware on PERC3/Di?
Maybe the firmware is responsible for server crashes. The firmware would fix some issue
of hanging hard drive and reseting the bus.
Does anyone have a idea or solution?
