Global Hot Spare
Hello,
I would like to know if there is a guide on how to configure a global hot-spare for PERC6/E and PERC6/I with the latest firmware.
I have tried to do it but I get some errors and never si the global hotspare on the virtual disk list.
This is some of the error I get:
2385 | Fri Feb 05 11:47:49 2010 | Storage Service | The Critical level set for the hot spare protection policy is violated for the Virtual Disk.: Virtual Disk 1 (OS) Controller 0 (PERC 6/i Integrated) | |||||

What are the complete specs of the existing drives and the new drive? Sounds like a drive mismatch.

They are SAS 15K, but ones are 3.5" and the other 2.5".
Maybe this is the problem.
Thanks.
