How to use PERC

Hi,

I am setting up a PowerEdge 2800.  The original factory configuration of the 7 hard drives that I have running on it was 5 of the hard drives running in a RAID5 and the other 2 running in a RAID0.  However, the person in charge of ordering the server was supposed to order 5 in a RAID5 and the other 2 in RAID1.  I am trying to change the 2 drives that are RAID0 to being RAID1.

I went into PERC using Ctrl-M at the startup screen.  I ended up going to clear, to clear the config that was already set up.  I then created the 2 drives I wanted as RAID1

Check to make sure the BIOS is enabled on the RAID controller.

Sorry I got cut off.

Ok so after I set the two drives as RAID1, I set the other 5 as RAID5.  I then Initialized the drives like it said to, and restarted my server.  I put in the Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition CD and I started to load that as the server restarted.  Once I got into the CD attempting to reinstall the OS it gives me an error that "There are no recognized hard disks".  Does anyone have a clue what I am doing wrong, or why I am not allowed to install Server 2003??  This is beoming really frustating, thanks.

I ended up getting it to work, but a different way.  When you are trying to install server 2003 with the cd, when it first starts to load the cd it gives you an option at the bottom of the screen "press f6 to install 3rd party raid....."  so I went into the driver download section of dell.com and found an updated driver, and something that happened to work on a floppy disc during this part of the install.  It is installing server 2003 now and things are looking better, thanks.
