Import RAID5 array from different controller

Hello,
 
Is the PERC5/i can recognize or rebuild a RAID5 array from a different controller?
Actually I use the Highpoint RocketRAID 1640 raid controller with 4 SATA drives.
There is a RAID5 array with them and I would like to export it to a PE2900 with PERC5/i.
 
Shall I to create a new array with new disks or can I just import the disks?

I wouldn't count on it. There have been some attempts to standardize raid configurations and how the headers are written to disks, but it never really received enough support to become very 'standard'.

I would very strongly recommend having a fully tested backup of your data, and then try it (with the expectation that it will wipe any config it may have had).
