PERC 6/I controller & Windows 2000 Server

I have a new PE2950 Server enroute.

I can only use Windows 2000 Advanced Server SP4 with it (my ERP version only works with this OS)

PERC6 drivers are only available for Server 2003.

Has anyone got Windows 2000 Server to work with PERC6?

Cheers..

Alternatively, could I use a PERC2 controller from a PE2450 with the PE2950?

The incompatibility issue only came to light after I ordered the server, so ordering a PE2650 is not an option.

I'll try the VMWare image as a fall back - cheers

Anyone else have experience with this?

If you're considering using a PERC2, have you instead considered using a Poweredge 2650?

Alternatively, get VMware ESX and virtualize Windows 2000.

I have the same problem.  I plan to install Win 2000 Server in PE2950 (with PERC 6i controller).  Does anyone know if both of them compatible or any driver available?

Since the original post nothing has changed with the age of Windows 2000 or Dell's support for Windows 2000.

You can try LSI and look for a Windows 2000 driver there, but you won't get support for it from Dell.

You could run Windows 2008 x64 with hyper-V and then run Windows 2000 in a virtual machine on the server. Or do the same with ESX.

We are also looking for the PERC 6/I drivers for Windows 2000. Does anyone have any updates to this issue?

Thank you,

Shawn
