PERC S100 Virtual Disk Management- initialize not available- physical disks NOT SELECTABLE

In Virtual Disk Management, I am not able to initialize physical disks.  Probably because in the Physical Disks fireld 0-4, DVDCD, ATAPI are all listed together so I am unable to select the physicial disks.  I get the message "NOT SELECTABLE"  Any suggestions?

Actually those are the steps I took that lead me to this problem.  I am not able to initialize the physical disks to RAID or NONRAID.  I get NOT SELECTABLE message.

Hi,

“Follow these steps to view the properties of physical disks:

  1. Power the system on and press <Ctrl><R> when prompted, to access the PERC Virtual Disk Management utility.”

To see physical disk status.

This is Windows Small Server 2011 with 2 1T SATA drives set to a single virtual drive with RAID 1.  I would like to set to NO RAID but as stated before am unable to do initialize the SATA's in VDM because the physical disks are NOT SELECTABLE.

Hi,
"the Perc S100 card is a RAID solution is compatible only with Windows Server software. This card is not compatible with Vmware Esx or Linux."
Can this be the issue? Or what about HDD?  S100 supports SATA HDD only.

Thank you for sending the link to the manual.  Since my objective is to set to nonraid, can I do that in the SATA settings of BIOS and change setting from RAID TO AHCI?
