Perc 6/i RAID - Unable to create virtual volume

We have a R710 that was retasked to be a backup system. The server has 2 1TB drives in a RAID 1 configuration. We ran out of space we we removed the 1TB drives and inserted 2TB drives (Western Digital). When we try to create the RAID it fails to create the virtual disk. There is no error code. Just a Failed to Create message. The controller "sees" the two 2TB drives. I can select them. But when it comes to creating the RAID 1 volume it just fails.

What can I do to fix this?

We have a Dell PE R710 server. We are now using it as a backup system. It had a RAID 1 array, but we ran out of space, so we upgraded the drives to 2 TB drives. When we turn the system on, we go into the RAID configuration utility to setup the new RAID (we removed the old drives and put two new [Western Digital] drives in the caddies. When we go to setup the RAID 1, we can see the drives. We can select the drives. But when we try to create the RAID 1 volume we get an error "Virtual Disk failed" or something like that. No RAID volume was created. There is no error code to look up. What can I do to get this RAID created??

Hello

The controller is having issues writing to the drives. The drives may have unsupported specifications, like block size, or it may just be a firmware communication issue.

Thanks
