Hello Josh, thanks for the response, is it possible to make a firmware change to be able to use CentOS 6.6 ? it's very important please advise. br, Tal
The problem is that the hardware has outpaced the software, so the driver likely isn't compatible. You'd need to load an updated driver into Cent to make it happen.
Hi, I have been trying to install customized linux iso (callstream) which is based on centos 6.6 on the power edge R440 server. Everytime it is showing : no usable disks found. what's the solution. Can u guys tell please?
I would start with booting to the raid controller BIOS and verify that you in fact have a virtual disk configured. If so then the issue is likely the driver file for the raid controller, but being that it isn't a supported OS we are limited on options. What you could do is try the RHEL equivalent found on the support page here.
Hey Chris, I have the virtual disk configured in RAID-1. I have seen that centos 6.6 is not the supported OS for power edge R440. So in that case what can i do. Is there any driver file for this to support cent os 6.6? How can i update the driver if so?
Here is the bios version for the R440 server. Please help me with this.

Hi,
Only 6.9 and 6.10 are validated. Page 13 https://linux.dell.com/files/supportmatrix/RHEL_Support_Matrix.pdf

thing is, it prevents me from making a fresh installed CentOS 6.6
can't I make a firmware downgrade\upgrade to be able to handle the kernel ?

Install 6.6 on a VM inside of a validated OS.

Hello,
it means to try a controller driver in a Red Hat equivalent format.
Thanks
