The S300 will put new drives into a non-RAID virtual disk state by default. If you want to rebuild that disk into the RAID 10 you will need to delete the non-RAID virtual disk first. The drive should then go to a ready state. Once the drive is in a ready state you can rebuild it into the RAID 10 virtual disk.
The message at the top indicates that you are hitting enter without making a selection. There should be a legend at the bottom right that indicates what keys to press to make selections. You can also reference the manual for how to delete a virtual disk.
On that screen you should select/highlight the virtual disk that you want to manipulate and then select the task you want to perform at the bottom. You should then be able to hit enter to go to the next screen. Review the legend and manual for specific instructions to perform the task.
I got to assigned to the raid 10. All you needed to was to press Insert key on the keyboard. And the drive says ready. I rebooted the server so it can be rebuilt the drive but it did not do nothing. How can i rebuilt it from perc s300?
You deleted the non-RAID virtual disk, so now the new drive you inserted is no longer in a virtual disk. In that screen shot you are viewing virtual disks. You need to switch to the physical disk view to see physical disks that are not members of virtual disk. You can assign it as a hot spare or use whatever virtual disk sync options are available on the controller to initiate a rebuild.
I went to the Global Hot Spare option and assigned it raid 10. When I go to the Physical Disk details I see there in ready. How to I select it to rebuilt or what key does give me that option.
If you set it as a hot spare then a rebuild should start automatically. It can take a few minutes for the drive status to update or it may not update the status correctly until the PERC BIOS is reloaded. Also, the S series controllers are driver based controllers, you may need to boot into the operating system for a rebuild to start. I would have to double check that in the manual though.
Its now in spare. I don't see it rebuilding. I restarted the server and the status has not changed. I can't get in to windows due to it says missing operating system.
I have a T110 that has a degraded VD. I replace a damage drive and its in that spare mode. The drive is not rebuilding and I can't logon to Windows due to is giving me the Missing Operating System. I have try using the Live CD and access the OMSA. but the it does not show me the drives. Any ideas on how to get this server back in running. It has valuable data and the business is being affected. Please see screenshot attached.

The S100 and S300 are driver-based controllers. Many functions can only be performed by the driver. One of the functions that requires a driver is a virtual disk rebuild. A rebuild will not run until you boot into an operating system with the driver installed. If the OS is not loading you cannot rebuild.
A rebuild does not correct issues with the data. It will not correct your OS not loading issue. A rebuild copies existing data to a new drive.
You are in a data loss scenario. I suggest contacting a data recovery company if you need to recover the data. If you want to try to resolve the issue yourself then you need to start by resolving the OS issue. The OS will need to load before you can rebuild the disk.
