Poweredge 2650
Hello,
I currently have a PE 2650 in RAID 5 18gb x3. We're quickly running out of room on the C: drive and need to add another 18gb hard drive to the equation to make some space. My understanding is to add the drive to the container as long as everything is compatible, and then expand the C drive to an appropriate space. I've read a few threads that say expanding the boot partition can be problematic so I'm a little worried there. We will be using a third party software (Acronis) to expand the drive once its added to the container. Does anybody see a problem with doing it that way? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What ever you do, take the time to perform a full backup prior to any manipulation, reconstructions or additions to a RAID.
Though this method is not supported, here is the link and info for Dell EXTPART.EXE
ftp://ftp.dell.com/app/ExtPart.exe
Please review the following.
Windows 2000, Windows Powered, Multi Language, Multi System, v.1.0.4, A01
The ExtPart utility provides support for online volume expansion of NTFS formatted basic disks in Dell PowerVault/PowerEdge
stand-alone or cluster configurations with Dell OpenManage Array Manager installed. This is a self extracting file that will install
the extpart.exe utility. No reboot is necessary.
Before installing ExtPart and extending a volume, ensure you have a working back up of your operating system.
This will allow you to quickly restore the previous operating system configuration in the event you need to troubleshoot
your system. See your System Administrator's Guide for more information on creating a system state backup. Systems
Affected: Dell PowerVault/PowerEdge stand-alone or Cluster SE400, FE300 or FE400 configuration.
Dell PowerVault 750N, 755N, 770N & 775N Please see the extpart.txt file for system requirements, limitations and usage instructions.
