R320 RAID 1 Using SATA Drivers and Windows Server 2008 Is This Possible?
Hello!
I have configured the system to RAID 1 in the RAID bios, created a VM no issues, sees both SATA drives and creates the RAID 1 happily and the drive LEDs flash in unison!
Trying to install Windows Server 2008 R2, and the drives are not seen. Usual solution to this is to install the RAID driver, however the DELL website only offers a H310 PERC driver for RAID SAS, not SATA.
Have tried literally EVERY RAID driver on the DELL website and only the x86 one shows the H310 driver in Windows installer, all the others produce a "unsigned driver" error. Yet even selecting the x86 driver still shows no drives.
Is SATA drive RAID possible in Windows? If so where is the working driver for the R320 for Windows 2008 R2?

Which controller you have on the server? If it is H310 it will support both SAS and SATA drives. For operating system installation you can use Lifecycle Controller which will carry all the required drivers for OS deployment as driver pack. You can refer below link for details on this

That looks just the ticket!
Will do that and come back if there are any issues, this is the first Dell server I have worked on, having previously used HP where no such system as you suggest exists!
Thanks
