R720xd internal H710 mini and H310 it mode
Hi,
I have a R720xd that I'd like to split the 12 disks. I want 6 of them on the embedded H710 and the other 6 in a JBOD configuration. Can I plug in a H310 (it mode) into a free PCIe slot and connect the drives to it? Is there anything else I need to do? Thanks.

Hello
I'm unable to find a dual internal storage controller configuration that is supported for an R720XD. The R720 has a dual x8 backplane configuration that supports dual internal controllers. It is on page 100 of the R720/XD manual.

If you are able to get it to work it will likely produce errors. If the backplane is not cabled in a supported configuration it typically produces SAS connector errors.
