Raid Conffiguration Limitations SAS1068e

Hello,

I have a fairly new R710 and am setting it up for the first time.  I thought I could run a configuration consisting of four drives for a Raid 10 and 2 other drives at Raid 0.

When entering the raid configuration during boot, the only options I have are Raid 0 & 1.  Am I doing something wrong or is just a limitation to this card?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Looks like you have a Dell SAS 6iR/H200 RAID controller which only supports RAID levels 0 and 1. A PERC H700 can be installed and supports RAID levels 0,1,5,6,10,50, and 60.

Which raid controller do you have? For the R710, there are several options like a PERC6i, PERC H700, PERC H200, SAS6iR, and maybe some others that I'm overlooking.

During boot, it says Dell SAS 6 host 6.22.03.00, LSI

The SAS 6/iR is what you most likely have, and as Dev Mgr said, it is limited to RAID 0,1.  The H200 - basically the newer version of the SAS 6/iR - will support RAID 10 as well - but if you don't have that option, that is likely not the card you have (unless, similar to the older PERC's, you must first create RAID 1's then "span" them).
