T110 HDD > 2TB
Want to use old Dell T110 server for FREENAS.
To install HDD > 2TB capacity, which SAS controller should be used?
Will Dell H200 6Gb/s SAS SATA RAID PCIe Controller 47MCV will work?
Which cables should I buy to use along with it?
Can I use SATA or SAS disks.

Did you have T110 or T110 II. T110 support 2TB Hard drive and H200 controller (47MCV). You can refer below link for more details. Did you have dell certified hard drive. Can you share the part number of hard drive so that we can check whether it is supported in T110?

I believe you need below cable to connect hard drive to H200 controller on T110

It's definitely T110.
I want to buy some parts to build TRUENAS / FREENAS home NAS.
So need to understand what parts to buy as well.
In the past I had a SEAGATE / WD SATA 3 TB HDDs which I dont want to use.
Instead I want to use the SAS based disks if possible. Not sure if it can be done or not on T110.
So to setup the FREENAS on that need to know what all parts are needed for controller, HDD and respective cables as well. Any other components needed as well.
Feel free to share links of the compatible hardware components to build it. That will help to understand what to buy. thanks in anticipation.

I bought these two items: -
New For Dell Poweredge R610 R710 H700 SAS-A SAS-B SATA Cable M246M 0M246M model
New Dell PowerEdge Bracketed H200 6Gb/s SAS SATA RAID PCIe Controller 47MCV 047MCV
The H200 card is detected. THe compatible cables are plugged in to the Hard disks as well.
But the Hard disks do not show up in the list. So still not successful.

It is recommended to install latest FW on the server especially BIOS and BMC. You can download latest FW For T110 from below location. If your server have very old FW installed for BIOS and BMC then it is not recommended directly update to latest FW from very old FW. You can alternate staged (Use intermediate versions) update of BIOS and BMC to reach latest level.
https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-in/product-support/product/poweredge-t110/drivers
you can either use operating system or bootable USB key to update FW. Installation instruction section of each FW downloads page will have instructions on how to install.

Cable M246M is not compatible with T110. Can you share the picture of cable and how it is connected to the drive?
