T310 SATA Port Issue

Question

Hi, I have a PowerEdge T310 with 3 SATA HDD and it's been running faultlessly for years. A few days ago there was a power outage and when switched back on the server would not boot as it could not detect a bootable drive. I've some investigation, swapping drives and slots etc and found that that if i have a drive plugged into SATA port C, then only port B works. And if i plug a drive into SATA port D, then only port A works. So at the moment i'm left with the only working solution to use ports A & B and leave C & D unplugged. Is this likely to be a motherboard or a power issue? What steps should i take next to further diagnose the issue or should i buy a single replacement part (if poss) or just go for a 2nd hand server and insert my HDD's and RAM into it? ThanksMartin

Hello

I would suspect an issue with the system board. Faulty or incompatible hardware can cause odd and sometimes intermittent issues. I would disconnect hardware to rule out the possibility of another part failure.
