What is perc controller and why i need perc controller to configure raid?
Dear Friends,
We planned to buy one dell power edge server. In the quote of the server i seen this perc controller.
I don't know what is perc controller, and why it need to configure raid. Also i have no idea how it will work. So please share your knowledge.

Hi,
PERC stands for PowerEdge RAID Controller. There are a variety of models but you are correct that one is needed to use RAID. http://www.dell.com/learn/us/en/04/campaigns/dell-raid-controllers
