APC SC series compatible with PowerEdge R710 ?

Hi,

I'm using an APC Smart UPS SC 450A (shipped by APC, Part# SC450RMI1U, Dell Part# A0541182) on a PowerEdge R710 Server. If the UPS switches to battery mode (e.g. during self test), the server immediatly switches off.

APC told me, that the servers power supply may have an active Power Factor Correction. Only power supplys with passive Power Factor Correction are suppoerted by APC SC series.

See: http://www.apcmedia.com/salestools/RMUZ-7DTKRC_R1_EN.pdf

Is there an active PFC in the R710 power supplies (made by Emerson) ?

Thanks

Daniel

I suggest you buy a non-SC SmartUPS. I had to buy non-SC series for home for my router and cable modem as the SC-series' switch-over time was just a little too long for my router and cable modem to survive the 'dip'. The full SmartUPS series always runs you off the battery and just keeps the battery charged.
