Can anyone verify if this Memory are from DELL?

Good day,

We bought a Dell PowerEdge 6T40 Server with this Memory connected on to it.

The server run smoothly for 3 years now and suddenly 1 of the memory crash down

We check the said Memory and it says "SKhynix 16GB 2Rx8 PC4 - 2666v-Re2-12" and the provider says that its a original Dell memory since the purchase the Server from DELL.

Can any verify if the memory they use for our Dell Server are real Dell

Please see photo attached. Thank youDell memory.PNG

Hello @Luther Caloring,

Please, can you send me the server service's tag via private message?
I will check if this was in the original configuration or not.

Regards.

Thank you sir.

so this SKhynix 16GB 2Rx8 PC4 - 2666v-Re2-12 is really from dell?  and also since the store where we bought the server cannot give us this module again..  they  offer us this "Kingston KTD-PE426D8/16G Memory" can this module work together with Kinston KTD?

Thank you again sir..

Below are the part number of 2666 MHZ 16GB memory supported by T640 (I assume you have T640 please clarify if model is not correct as your first post does not have the exact model). You can also refer below link for more details on memory configuration for T640.

Non Dell memory are not supported on PowerEdge Servers. Not supported does not mean it will not work we can not guarantee that it will work as it is not validated.

@DELL-Shine K

Hi, as Shine said, please keep this in mind when you upgrade your DIMM in the future. "Non Dell memory are not supported on PowerEdge Servers. Not supported does not mean it will not work we can not guarantee that it will work as it is not validated."

If you have below part, it seems compatible with R740 as well.

TFYHP
DIMM,16GB,2933,2RX8,8G,DDR4,R

These are the memory guidelines for R740

Please check the system event logs because the DIMM could have failure.
