Cant update lcc firmware: fails to connect to downloads.dell.com
Hi, I try to update firmwares via the Lifecycle controller interface (of an R640). As i am warned that i can't use ftp with downloads.dell.com, i try to connect to the HTTPS network share which name is downloads.dell.com, with proxy settings. But when i test the connectivity, i have an error message telling me the proxy is OK but it fails to reach 23.215.52.29. Any help ? Thx in advance

Hello
I haven't heard of any issues with the download site. I suggest manually updating the iDRAC to the latest revision and trying again. Changes are sometimes made that require a firmware update to the iDRAC/LCC to be able to perform updates using our online catalog.
http://www.dell.dom/support/
http://www.dell.com/idracmanuals/
You should be able to upload iDRAC/LCC firmware through your browser in the iDRAC web server. It accepts Windows Dell Update Packages.
Thanks

Hello, Can you confirm the test connectivity check in lcc firmware update is a simple ping test ? It appears I cant ping downloads.dell.com/23.215.52.29, even from my pc.
By the way, i updated the idrac/lcc to 3.32.32.32 but i still have the same problem.

Yes, 23.215.52.29 does respond to ICMP requests. It sounds like your proxy may be blocking.
