Dell R510 - changing NIC to use Jumbo Frames for iSCSI
All-
Simple question really but I want to be sure. We have a Dell R510 server and I want to change the MTU on the 2nd NIC being used for iSCSI. It right now is at the default of 1514. We also have a Drobo B1200I SAN appliance and we can set a maximum MTU of 9000. The Dell server only has hard coded settings in the NIC configuration on the Broadcom BCM5716C NetXtreme II GigE of 1514, 4088, 9014 .
So I was wondering how to set this up on the 2 devices and the switch ports. Do I just set the Dell NIC to 9014, Drobo to 9000 and switch ports to 9000?? Not sure what will happen if I get a mismatch.
Let me know, thank you in advance!

Hello.
That should work fine. Jumbo frame size can be 9000 and slightly higher. Ensure that the BCM5716C NetXtreme II GigE have up to date driver and firmware.
