E7-8870 support for r810

Dear Dell team,

Do I understand correctly and the only requirement for 4 x E7-8870 support with R810 is two 1kw power supplies

https://downloads.dell.com/manuals/all-products/esuprt_ser_stor_net/esuprt_poweredge/poweredge-r810_user%27s%20guide4_en-us.pdf

I.E I can use 4xE7-8870 with DDR3 1.5v after updating bios/idrac/cpld

Thanks

Crond,

I am not seeing the requirement for the specific wattage, but it is required to have both power supplies to use that processor line. Now if the server is moderately to heavily loaded with hardware I would suggest the higher output power supplies, so you don't get into the situation of exceeding the voltage provided by the power supplies. Also it is indeed recommended to update the server entirely prior to upgrading the processors.

Hope this helps.

Servers are used for virtualization so they're loaded with RAM (all dimms are populated with ddr3 1.5V) and a single dual port 10G card.  All servers are already equipped with dual 1K power supplies, so compatibility of 4x e7-8870 CPU configuration with regular DDR3 1.5V  was my only concern. Thanks for clarifying this point.
