Exchange Intel Core i3 with Xeon processor
Some weeks ago i've got an old Dell PowerEdge T310 server with Intel Core i3 processor from the school i used to work. The school is permanently closed and they abandoned some ict-stuff. The system is in excellent condition and i want to use it at home. Is it possible to replace the Intel Core i3 by an Intel Xeon processor? I need some more speed for the purpose i want to use the system for.
If this is possible with the same motherboard, which type of Xeon processor do i need?
I am not very familiar with this kind of things, so my apologies if this question looks a bit silly.

Hi Cisca,
The Quad-core Intel® Xeon® processor 3400 series will work. They have been certified to work on the T310 platform.
