Fiber card not showing in firmware Inventory

I have two M620 blades in a 1000e chassis that has QLogic fiber cards that show up in the hardware inventory, but not the firmware inventory.  I have eight other blades in that chassis that they show up in both.  All the blades have the same version of iDRAC, and I have CSIOR enabled on all the blades.  Does anyone know how I can get the fiber cards to show up in the firmware inventory so that I can update those?

Hello

If you enter the lifecycle controller on one of the servers that it is not displaying in the CMC does it show and allow you to perform the update? If so, perform the update there and then check to see if it is correctly listed in the CMC.

If the firmware is is too far out of date then you may have to update it through other means to allow the CMC or lifecycle controller to properly communicate with it for updates.

Thanks

All the firmware is up to date on the blade.  I went to the Lifecycle controller to try to update it, but it won't do the update because it does not see the card in it's firmware inventory.  I also tried swapping out a new card and got the same result.  T

Is the other card that you tried running out of date firmware as well or is it at the latest firmware? Are your other blades that the qlogic cards is detected on M620s? If the firmware is out of date did you try updating it by some other means besides the LCC or CMC to see if it is then detected properly?

Do the Intel and QLogic cards appear in F2 --> Device Settings?

I recommend updating the iDRAC/Lifecycle Controller firmware version to 2.20.20.20.  On the downloads page, it's called "iDRAC with Lifecycle Controller".

If you're still seeing this inventory problem, then upgrade the iDRAC/LC firmware version and reboot all the way to an Operating System.  Wait about 5 minutes just to give the inventory process plenty of time to complete.  After that, check the inventory again to see if the QLogic and Intel cards are displayed.

What is the model and firmware version of the Intel card?

What is the model and firmware version of the QLogic card?

In case anyone sees this again, these 2 cards cannot be configured by the LifeCycle controller or the idrac. All configuration must be done thru the card's firmware screen, which can be accessed at boot time.
This sheet will show which cards can and cannot be configured in idrac and LC. If the link is broken, Google "Understanding Dell Network Adapters And Their Relationship To iDRAC With Lifecycle Controller"
