GPU card for Dell M420 or M620

hi there,

I'm relatively new to blades and had some questions re: using mezzanine expansion cards.

I'm looking at setting up an RDS farm on some spare Dell blades (preferably m420 or possibly m620s).

I'd like to use remotefx which as I understand it requires a GPU card. Is there one available for these blades?

If is are there any other considerations to introducing these to the blades?

Huwy,

The only Blade that current supports using GPU's is the M610x, that is within the M1000e enclosures. The VRTX Blades can support them, because the VRTX has the PCI slots on the system board.

So there isn't currently an option to get the GPU card to work on the 2 model blades.

Chris, I stuck an NVIDIA GPU into the PCI expansion slot on a VRTX. The card was registered by the VRTX and I assigned it to a M620 server. We have esxi 5.5 running and I was able to assign the card to a windows 7 VM but when I boot the VM, it just hangs on the initial windows 7 start screen. I tried it with a fresh needed to be installed win 7 and an already up and running win 7 VM. Any thoughts? Thanks Clay
