How to configure 128Gb of RAM in an R610?

So we have an R610 and want to have it running with 128GB of memory.  We purchased 8 16GB sticks and installed them in numerical order so slots 1, 2, 3, and 4 are full and 5 and 6 are open:

[16] [16] [16] [open] [16] [open]  XX  XX  [open] [16] [open] [16] [16] [16]

When I boot it up I get stopped every time asking to press F1 to continue or F2 to go into setup.

Each side has the same amount of memory and each corresponding slot on either side is full or open.  How can I make this work with 128 Gigs of memory without getting stopped during every boot? Do I need to fill 1, 2, 4 and 5 and leave 3 and 6 open so each channel is full but then I have 1 channel empty?

Or can I just turn off the invalid memory check setting somewhere so it stops bugging me about it?

Order them so they are filled from the outside going in with the inner set closest to the cpu being unpopulated on each side. It will still only be dual channel memory vs triple if it was filled out but it will get rid of the error.

Hi,

The memory should be installed in slots 1,2,4 and 5. Page 118 shows the memory configuration. ftp://ftp.dell.com/Manuals/all-products/esuprt_ser_stor_net/esuprt_poweredge/poweredge-r610_Owner%27s%20Manual2_en-us.pdf
