How to install an os on Dell PowerEdge 2900?

I have recently bought an Dell PowerEdge 2900 without its drives. I have tried googling how to install an OS but have had no luck. It does turn on but only shows a login page. I have no clue what Version of windows server is best. Any info would help because right know I am stuck.

Hello

You can find operating system support information for our servers on this page:

https://www.dell.com/support/contents/article/product-support/self-support-knowledgebase/enterprise-resource-center/server-operating-system-support

We have OS install resources available, but most OS's can be installed by simply booting from the disc. You can find drivers, documentation, and other available downloads on the system support page.

If you are using one of our RAID controllers then you will need to configure the RAID and maybe load the driver for the RAID controller during OS installation. Many of our RAID controllers will function with native OS SAS drivers. You can update the driver after installation if the native driver will allow the OS to install.

Thanks

Download the 180-day evaluation version of Server 2012 R2, configure RAID before installing, then boot to the Server 2012 R2 installation DVD/USB.
