ISA data collection card not working in PE 2400
Hi,
I recently acquired this PE 2400, 1 x 667MHz CPU, 128MB RAM, 2 x 9GB HDD.
Clean installed W2k Server SP4, and installed IE6 SP1, BIOS A09, ESM Firmware 5.39, Backplane Firmware 5.47, Driver SCSI RAID AMI PERC2/SC W2k268A.exe (I left PERC2/SC Firmware as it was = FW 3.01), and Dell Open
Manage Server Administrator 4.5.0. Disks run in RAID 1 configuration.
In the card slots are only a PERC2/SC PCI card and an old workhorse 16-bit ISA data collection card (similar to TV cards) installed. The PERC2/SC was already installed when I received the box.
Used ISA_Clear and installed the ISA card per Resource Configuring Utility A01. The jumpers on the card tally with the IRQ and I/O range entered into RCU and the card is then locked in the RCU. No conflicts in the RCU. The computer works well except for the ISA card.
The problem: The ISA card warns through its data collecting SW that data is not coming in (it should, data is being transmitted). The ISA card works fine when installed in an older Tyan S1571 Motherboard running W2k Prof.
In Device Manager the ISA card is OK. Checking in System Information there are no Conflicts or Problem Devices and the ISA card reported correctly. However in OMSA the 16-bit PCI5/ISA 16-bit slot is reported as "Not Occupied".
Also, OMSA reports that Embedded OSB4 PCI to ISABridge is "N/A".
I have to no avail uninstalled and reinstalled everything for the ISA card.
Another interesting thing is that after the W2k install but before any BIOS etc upgrade, there was no Tag number in the original BIOS A04. The computer did run OK except for the same ISA card problem. Now a Tag number has appeared in BIOS, however it is different from the Tag Number on the box.
What could be the problem?
