Is there a way to integrate a "plain" HBA into the R820?

Our R820 has two four-disk backplanes that came attached preconfigured to a PERC H710 adapter. When I attach one of these to a plain LSI HBA, the server complains that its SAS cable is disconnected as if it expects it to be attached to H710 and nothing else. Is there a way to tell it is OK to ignore this cable? Better yet, is there a way to inform iDRAC to talk to the LSI HBA?

Hello,

27NFF is the part number for an LSI 9207, which is an internal HBA shown as supported for the R820. The H710 doesn't appear to have an HBA mode, and setting a disk to passthrough mode is for the H310 only, according to the manual. It looks like the LSI 9207 may be your best option.
