New T110 II with Perc S300. Not recognizing external esata drive
My RAID 5 with 4 drives is running just fine. I want to connect an external drive to do backups. It has an esata interface which I have plugged into the back. It is not getting recognized even though the BIO sata settings are on ACHI and esata is set to Auto. I am running Windows 2012 R2.
Anything else I need to configure to get this drive recognized?
Thank you!

Rfage,
In order to utilize the eSATA the BIOS setting would need to be placed on ATA and not on ACHI under the SATA Settings. This link will assist you in changing the setting -
ftp://ftp.dell.com/Manuals/all-products/esuprt_ser_stor_net/esuprt_poweredge/poweredge-t110-2_Owner%27s%20Manual_en-us.pdf
Let me know if the drive is functional upon changing the BIOS to ATA.
Thanks.

I will! I spent about 6 hours on this before I decided to post.

It worked! Thank you! I need to unplug and plug in the esata cable but after that, it worked. About to get the drive online for backups. FYI, it was a ioSafe Solo G3. In case anyone else asks.

Hello,
I hope this post is still open.
I have the same issue... did the same thing... did not help... any other suggestions?
I'm using a e-sata cable on a Samsung EVO 850
Thanks in advance
