PE2950 Server - E1410 SYSTEM FATAL ERROR

Hi People

I really hope somebody can advised on what this error actually translates to?

The server when powered up does not even start its POST and just displays the above error on the LED screen of server.

I have Googled this error and have found many similar issues but not this specific one, but for the record I have followed the below steps already just to see if it helped:

Re-seated all Memory dims

Removed and re-seated both CPUs and both heat sinks

Nothing changed the status message or started POST.

Does anyone have any suggestions or anyone seen this before and fixed it?

Any advise welcomed.

Many thanks

I would try one cpu at a time, along with that I would try going down to 1 or 2 sticks of ram and rotating them out to rule out bad ram, also try pulling any expansion cards including the raid controller.

If none of that gets it posting I would look at the mainboard being the culprit,

Hi

Thank you have tried this now and also no joy, will assume system board issue then?

Thanks

Yeah, if nothing else got it I would definitely look at the board at this point.

Hello.

The message code "e1410" indicates that the processor  has had an internal error (IERR), but this doesn’t always mean that CPU is the problem. There are a large variety of issues that cause an IERR besides the CPU.

Bring the system to minimum to POST with the following components:

  • System board
  • Processor (with heatsink) in socket 1
  • Two sticks of memory in memory slots 1 and 2
  • 1 power supply
  • Control panel (to turn on system)
  • Sideplane
  • Both PCI risers; PCI-e in center slot, (PCI-e or PCI-X) in left slot

Ensure that all USB devices including keyboard and mouse are disconnected.

Let me know whether this isolates the problem, otherwise proceed with motherboard replacement.

I have faced the same error in R610 and the same has been fixed after CPU replacement.
