PE830: cannot find setting to power up after power failure

Hello!

I have a client with two PE 830 server, BIOS A03, and I cannot find a setting to make them power up after there has been a complete power failure. My APC UPS will power down after a period of time, and if it is extended, the UPS will actually shut off.

When power is restored, the UPS restarts and feeds power to the servers, but they stay off until the power button is pressed. Every other system I have seen has a BIOS choice to automatically restart when power is restored, but I cannot find it here.

Before I flash these puppies to A04 BIOS, can anyone tell me if I am just missing the setting, or if it indeed does not exist in A03 and possibly A04 BIOS firmware?

Thank you!

I don't know the answer to this, but there will be release notes with the A04 bios which show what changes have been made.

greggmh123,

In the BIOS under System Security you should see a setting for AC Power Recovery. This Determines how the system reacts when power is restored to the system. If system is set to Last, the system returns to the last power state. On turns on the system after power is restored. When set to Off, the system remains off after power is restored.
Default setting: Last

To answer the first post, the release notes for A04 BIOS make no mention of a power setting change. To answer the second one, I will check the setting under System Security tomorrow morning.

Thank you!
