Power Edge T430 as Workstation with NVIDIA Quadro P2000

Hi. All,

I do GIS analysis, and I've had my eye on this T430 for a while now with spec :

2 x Intel Xeon E5-2023 v4 1.7GHz, 15M Cache, with Turbo Boost

16 GB RDIMM, 2400MT/S, DDR4, Dual Rank x4

Dual Hot Plug Redundant Power Supply (1+1) 495 W

Chassis with up to 8, 3.5" Hot Plug Hard Drives and Embedded SATA, Tower Configuration

I plan to investment on it and put  NVIDIA Quadro P2000 graphics card. Is it possible?

There is a good chance you won't get the R430 working with that graphics card. It is not designed for high-end graphics and there are no cards that have been validated on it. It may work, but probably not. A server is not the best option for what you describe it being used for ... Dell has the Precision Workstations for that.

I run a T430 as a workstation and I could never get a 85W graphics card to even allow the server to boot.

In the end, a decent 45W NVidia card worked very fine.

Thank you for your response @ElCoyote_. I just installed this graphics card yesterday. I working but it seem like no so stable because it just work at port no 3 and sometime it not working at all. I still try to figured out some alternative setting. Maybe I will also try the 45 W NVidia. Thank you

Which card did you end up getting, that worked? And also, did it require any configuration change to the EFI/BIOS to get it working?

Thanks!

hi all

I got Quadro K4000 to work in slot 4. no issues. Your power supply should have the 6pin GPU Socket.

You can get a cert GPU (AMD W7000)
