PowerEdge 1500SC - Failure! IMPORTANT!!! NEED HELP!!!!
Hello,
I have a Power Edge 1500SC Server. The Server has 4 SCSI-Hardisks with Raid Level 5 and Windows Server 2003.
Yesterday the Server crashed.
If I reboot the Server the screen shows the following message:
"Strike the F1 key to continue, F2 to run the setup utility"
" No boot device available -"
But the boot device is selected in the setup and the webbios.
Thanks in advance!!!
It's very imporant for me to get an answer, otherwise 30 employees can't work on monday!

Please provide the forum community with more information:
- Please report the RAID controller output displayed while the POST (Power-On-Self-Test).
- Please describe how the server crashed. (blue screen, error message, freeze, black screen, etc.)
- Please report the LED status of your hard disks. (You've to remove the front bezel).

Yes, there is a hardware diagnostic available, but your problem sounds not like a hardware failure. It sounds more like a software or configuration issue. If you run all hardware tests this may take several hours: ftp://ftp.us.dell.com/diags/ED501210.exe
Enter the text mode BIOS (Ctrl+M) of your RAID controller and run a consistency check.
You can also boot from your W2K3 CD and go into the recovery console (you've to load the RAID driver with F6). Try to logon to your windows installation and run this three commands:
chkdsk c: /p /r
fixboot
fixmbr

It's very complex.
I have 2 Power Edge 1500SC Servers.
One Server works with Raid 1(2 Hardisks" and the other works with Raid 5 (4 Hardisks).
The Server with Raid 5 crashed.
The screen shows the following message:
"Caution! NVRAM_CLR jumper is installed on system board
Please run setup"
Host Adapter Configuration Error
SCSI Bios Not Installed
... No boot device availabe..."
Ok,after that I installed the 4 Hardisks on the other Power Edge Server. I restored the Raid Information from hardisk in the WebBios (CTRL+H). The WebBios detect the Raid 5 correctly.
After that I reboot the system. No error messages. But the screen shows the same message on the screen
"No boot device availabe-"
What can I do?
Is a diagnostic program available?

If the message "Caution! NVRAM_CLR jumper is installed on system board." appears without any hardware change please open the chassis and check if there is electroconductive dust near to this jumper:

Ok, I have startet the Repair Modus from the Windows 2003 CD. Before I have loaded the Raid Driver from disk with F6.
But in Repair Modus is NO drive available!!!
What can I do?
I need this server urgent. It's a Domain Controller with important data.
