PowerEdge R330 fan issue
I have a PowerEdge R330 and one of the fan ports is no longer sensing one of the fans correctly. It shows 0 RPMs for 4A so I swapped 3 and 4 and the problem is still on 4A which tells me the RPM sensor is bad. The fans all spin fine.
I've downloaded the ipmi tool. What commends can I give it to keep the fans at a slow speed.
This system is only used to do tape backups.
Thanks,

Hello
I'm not aware of any method to override fan response due to a failed temperature probe. I suggest replacing the part that the failed probe is on. You can try updating BIOS, firmware, and drain power to clear volatile memory to correct the probe issue. If that does not resolve the probe issue then part replacement will be the next step.
Thanks

ipmitool -I lanplus -H ipaddress -U username -P password raw 0x30 0x30 0x02 0xff 0x10
