PowerEdge R710 Memory Question
I have 6x-16GB PC3L 12800R 2RX4 ECC DIMMs and I have 8x 8GB PCL 12800R 2RX4 ECC DIMMs. what should my configuration be with these modules in the memory slots, Everything I have tried leads to errors during boot up.
I believe to get this to work I need 2 more 16 GB chips.
Thank you in advance

Hello.
There are many memory population guidelines that have to be followed when installing memory which includes having all memory channels balanced. You should be able to use only six of 16GB and 8GB memory modules in order to balance the channels as follows:
A1,A2,A3 & B1,B2,B3: 16GB
A4,A5,A6 & B4,B5,B6: 8GB
This will give total memory capacity of 144GB. Ensure that the BIOS is up to date to support 16GB module.
