PowerEdge T610 Memory upgrade + CPU upgrade

Hello, I have two Dell PowerEdge T610 servers on which I upgraded the CPU (only 1 socket was populated on both) and RAM memory.

Both of them had one CPU socket populated, and current memory configuration is - BIOS: Memory optimized
A1, A2, A3 populated with 8GB modules.

I have 8x16GB modules would like to do the following and I would for you to confirm that it is correct way to upgrade.

1. Server
A1, A2, A3 & B1, B2, B3 populated with 16GB modules equals 96GB RAM

2. Server
A1 & B1 populated with 16GB
A2, A3 & B2, B3 populated with 8GB
Which equals 64GB RAM

Is that ok ?

Hi,

Thank you for the service tag.

The 2nd processor will need to be added for the B side to added. I was unsure if your upgrade was adding the 2nd processor or not. If so, the B side would be available.

Unfortunately, the T610 does not accept 16GB DIMMs.  Linking the user guide. Starting on page 123 it talks about which DIMMs are supported. Page 126 goes into configurations that are available.
