PowerEdgeM600 with iDrac v1.20 (Build 11)

Hi,

I have a PowerEdge M600 that I would like to reinstall the OS on, currently os'less, however with all my efforts I am unable to iDrac console onto it!

Java simply refuses to allow a connection to it stating Java will not allow the certificate.

I have:-
1. Added the exception https:// ip address into the Java security tab
2. Altered C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_231\lib\security\java.security commenting out "jdk.jar.disabledAlgorithms=MD2, MD5, RSA keySize < 1024, DSA keySize < 1024"

Does anyone have any guidance on how I get iDrac access working to the blade server so I can upgrade to the latest version of the iDrac firmware (https://www.dell.com/support/home/uk/en/ukbsdt1/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=7mdxw&oscode=lhs64&productcode=poweredge-m600).

Hope someone can help.

Thanks!

Mancubas,

Could you confirm a couple things for me?
What license do you have for the iDrac, as the Express license doesn't allow for use of the virtual console?
Would you confirm if you have local access to the server?
Have you tried from other browsers, as well as have you tried changing the setting from Java to Native or something else? If so, does the others connect?

Let me know.

No issues answering questions

We have a m1000e chassis that this m600 is plugged into, looking through the interface of both I cannot see any reference to iDrac's licenses, however I am confident it is not an express license as we have another m1000e in another datacenter which gives us console access without issue, I might be missing somthing so you can guide me to where I need to confirm this it would be useful.

Here is a screenshot of the error:-

This server is not local but we are due to visit the datacenter so physical interaction will be possible should it be required.

Yes tried IE11 & Mozilla no joy.

Can you elaborate on switching Java to native please? I have added the IP of the m600 into Java's exception list if this is what you mean.

Thanks.

Further to your query re iDrac express I have noted when when entering the ServiceTag into the dell.support I do get a Express Service Code, is this what you were are asking for?

Thanks,

Would you confirm if the browsers are 32bit or 64bit? I ask as using 64bit can cause issues and failures. Also, you should be able to see if set to ActiveX or Java under the Console - Console Redirection sub tab, you should be able to change it under the Configuration sub tab.
