Poweredge 720xd not detecting new NIC.

I recently purchased a new 4 port gigabit network card for my companies PE720xd. We are running server 2012 standard. The NIC is an H092P Intel Pro/1000 VT Quad Port PCI-e Server Adapter.

I installed the card in PCI slot 5 and installed what I believe to be the correct driver from Intel's site, however the card is not showing up the in device manager.

I'm not really all that familiar with installing new components on dell servers and i'm sure there is something fundamental i'm missing, if not more than one thing. I'm hoping someone here has some advice before I go call enterprise support.

Chrisfromthesc,

The issue is that the H092P Intel card was designed for 11th generation servers, and not intended for use in the 12th gen systems, like the R720xd.

The card you would need would be part # 0NWK2, which is also a 1GB QP pcie Intel nic.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for the advice. I needed to try several other troubleshooting steps before I resorted to this but it's looking pretty grim

The NIC we have wont show up in the BIOS or anything, tried re-seating it twice, so i'm going to send for the card you suggested as the next step, I will update when I test the correct card.

thank you again, much appreciated!
