The SC1420 is pretty old (released in 2004 if I'm not mistaken). This pre-dates VT by a couple of years.
It uses the Intel E7520 chipset. If you check the list of supported processors for that chipset, you'll see that none go over 800MHz FSB.
Even the fastest listed processor (3.80E GHz Xeon), shows under details that there's no support for VT.

what about this cpu? would it work it says it as VT (not faster really but VT is what I am after) ark.intel.com/.../Intel-Xeon-Processor-7140M-(16M-Cache-3_40-GHz-800-MHz-FSB)
