Question on R720/R730 for Bios upgrade jumps

Is it possible to jump straight from 2.0.19 to 2.7 Bios on an R720 ?
or on an R730 from 1.2.10 to 2.8 ?

1.2.10 to 2.55 would be too large as well. I would go from 1.2.10 to 2.0.1 to 2.4.3 to 2.9.1, while walking up i would also then run the corresponding iDrac update as well.

Hyperdrive67,

I wouldn't suggest that you jump that many updates at a time, as it can cause permanent issues. I would also advise that while you walk the BIOS updates up that you also in turn update the iDrac at the same time as the BIOS, this is because if you get the BIOS on too new of a version and the iDrac on a really old one then they can actual stop communicating.

Hope this helps.

so basically my company is mandating we go 2.0.19 to 2.54 then to 2.7, this is the recommended path? By the way we're using the 12G bundle to do this, so all the other stuff like Idrac etc are included And I'm guessing on a 730 I'd be safe to go to from 1.2.10 to 2.55 to to 2.8 would be the preferred path? I'd be using the 13G full package for this as well
