R640 memory 512GB best practice
I want to reach 512Gb Memory configuration on R640 with using the best performance.
on this article it shows the difference between balanced & unbalanced configurations https://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/04/sln311292/modular-system-cpu-and-memory-configurations-can-affect-performance?lang=en
but to achieve 512GB memory I have to do one of the below:
1- Sixteen 32GB Quad Rank RDIMMs for a maximum capacity of 512GB of memory.
2- Eight 32GB Quad Rank modules , the remaining sixteen sockets can be populated with 16GB Dual Rank modules for a maximum capacity of 512GB of memory. But I can't guess which one will give me the best performance.

The 8GB configuration would be faster, provided the other specs are the same. You'd be using more channels at the same time, the tradeoff is that if you were to want to upgrade in the future, it could be more expensive. Now, how much faster it is, I'm not sure how to measure.
