R710 Fan speed constantly higher wtih H710p raid card installed
I understand the H710p is not "supported" by dell on this system but it does work. Except the fact that when it's installed in any pci slot, the fans are constantly higher (all 5 averaging 7400 RPM). BIOS is up to date and firmware for card is up to date. Is there any way to slow these babies down. Also, what are the other 2 headers on here for?
Could that be causing the fan speed to go up or is it just the fact that the system "thinks" it needs to be cooler. Ambient Temp is 28.0 C.

Hello.
The H710P controller is validated to function on our 12th Gen servers such as R720, R620 etc. Even though it may work fine, this controller is not validated to work with R710 server. The use of unsupported cards may lead to unexpected system behavior including no POST, increase in fan RPM, errors etc. I would recommend using supported controller such as the H700.

I was going after the better performance of the h710p vs the h700. Running hyper-v with h700, is there a major difference between the h710p and h700?
And what up with those 2 other headers??? what are they used for?

Hello.
H710P supports up to 32 hard drives and has 1 GB NV as compared to H700 that support only a maximum of 16 hard drives and has 512 MB NV. See link for more information. http://www.dell.com/learn/us/en/04/campaigns/dell-raid-controllers The 2 other headers are ports that are used for engineering purposes such as TTY debugging.
