Hi,

To ensure this is not a false error, I would recommend these steps:

First remove, inspect and reseat the memory Dimms. This will make sure there is not a poor connection causing the error.

Then check to see if the System BIOS, ESM Firmware and Dell OpenManage Server Administrator (if installed) is at the latest revision. The below files are assuming Win2000 is the Operating System.

Dell Server System BIOS, PowerEdge 2550, A08
FileName:  PE2550-BIOSA08.exe [549 KB]
Release Date:  4-23-2003
http://support.dell.com/FileLib/Format.aspx?ReleaseID=R56951

Dell ESM Firmware, PowerEdge 2550, 4400, A56
Filename: a56cust.exe (405 KB)
http://support.dell.com/filelib/format.aspx?ReleaseID=R34150
Note: Extract the files to a DOS bootable floppy disk. Boot the server to this floppy disk, and run smflsh.exe.

Dell OpenManage Server Administrator and Remote Install (Agent), Windows 2000, Server 2003, v.1.5, A01
FileName:  om35_win_managed_systemA01.exe [138 MB]
Release Date:  9/25/2003
