T20 DisplayPort connections support audio?
I know it is odd for a server, but I need to connect a TV to the T20 with a DisplayPort to HDMI cable. Picture is fine, but I am not getting audio on the TV. A. Does the T20 pass audio over DP? B. If yes, what is the combination of drivers to get it to work? Thanks

Hi,
You should be able to set the audio output to displayport through windows. You will probably have to enable the Windows audio service as it is disabled by default. You may also need to install the audio driver:http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/DriverDetails/Product/poweredge-t20?driverId=9W89D&osCode=MWS80&fileId=3328172686&languageCode=en&categoryId=AU

Did anyone able to resolve this? Is it possible to audio output to displayport in poweredge t20? I tried installing latest intel 4600 drivers, but my TV in not listed in the playback devices under sound option.

Any dell representatives here, can you please answer the above query? does the t20 allows the audio passthrough over displayport?

Have you installed the Realtek audio codec? http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=9W89D&fileId=3328172686&osCode=MWS80&productCode=poweredge-t20&languageCode=EN&categoryId=AU
We have not disabled audio over displayport, however it is not validated to work, only the headphone jack and that is not supported for server applications.

i do have installed the realtek audio drivers... and there is no problem in 3.5mm out. Problem is displayport does not pass through the audio.

3. No HDMI audio output regardless of AV/R connection or reboot. (Reported on Gigabyte* motherboards and Sony* laptops). This issue is still under investigation. For now we are advising users with ANY of the above issues to upgrade both their BIOS to the latest version, as well as their Intel and 3rd party graphics drivers.

Same problem here (no audio output on HDMI) but different OS (Linux, I tryied Ubuntu 14.04 and Fedora which worked better on T20). No audio device is listed for Display Port. I don't think there is audio enabled on it.

Does the audio out via the line out jack work? If the audio device gets installed before the video device that could cause issues. Are there any unknown devices showing up?

As i mentioned in the above post, audio through line out/3.5mm does work fine. The problem is with only in hdmi pass through.... There's no unknown devices in the device manager. If you refer the intel forum link which I posted, the intel 4600 graphics does have this option.
BTW my dell studio 1558, hdmi pass through is working fine.

I was able to confirm that the audio over displayport is not a feature that we implemented in the BIOS.

Is there any plan in future to support this?

It does not look like it is something that is planned at this time.

Could you ask to implement this function? Even it is a server machine, this function is still useful.

Man. That is really sad, that the DP doesent transport an Audio stream.
I wish DELL could implement this into the Bios. I also need Audio (bit stream) through DisplayPort!
Is there any chance that it will be considered for the next bios upgrade?!
Thanks and best regards!
