VMware ESXi 6.0 doesn't lookup DHCP on my PowerEdge T460 server
Hi guys, i recently bought a PowerEdge T460 server but i've a big problem: i can't connect my vSphere client on the ESXi host installed in the server. I download from the official PowerEdge T460 download page, the ESXi 6.0 ISO (VMware-VMvisor-Installer-6.0.0.update03-5572656.x86_64-DellEMC_Customized-A04) but it says: Warning: DHCP lookup failed, http://169.254.65.224/ (Waiting for DHCP...)
I'm trying everything, i'm at home to test it so i would connect my host at my router. I tried to set IP manually:
IP: 192.168.1.200
SUBNET: 255.255.255.0
GATEWAY: 192.168.1.1 (my router with DHCP enabled)
DNS: obtain dns and hostname automatically
but it doesn't work, always the same warning, i can't ping 192.168.1.1 or other device and i can't ping 192.168.1.200 from other device too
any suggest? My NIC adapter is a BCM57416
Thanks!
PS: i tried even with VMware ESXi 6.5 but nothing happen

Hi,
Can you private message me the service tag so we can get some additional information?
Do you have a link light on the NIC? Which NIC port are you connecting to?

Hi, I'm seeing the same issue with the exact same setup. Please help. It keeps saying "DHCP lookup failed"

This typically means either the wrong NIC is plugged in (compared to which NIC is set for vmk0/management), or a vlan id is missing (default is untagged, so if the switch has the DHCP server handing out IP addresses on a certain tagged vlan, you need to add this vlan id to the management settings at the DCUI).
