Viewing the Hardware Event Log on R710 from OS ?

Is it possible to view the Hardware Event Log from Win2008 R2 OS ?

There is no connected DRAC and I do not want to reboot to view from BIOS...

Yes, using OpenManage Server Administrator (OMSA):

ftp.dell.com/.../OM-SrvAdmin-Dell-Web-WIN-7.3.0-350_A00.exe

Download and run to extract, then run C:\Openmanage\windows\setup.exe.  Add yourservernameoripaddress:1311 to IE's Intranet Zone.

Go to System, then Logs tab (Hardware subtab).

Until you install a certificate, it will generate that warning ... just click continue.

Are you opening the site (https://localhost:1311) in IE?  Do you have any other settings/features/roles enabled that might be "out of the ordinary"?  Is IE ESC enabled?  Where exactliy are you seeing that "SSLError=1677216"?  IE?  I've never encountered that particular message.

Yes, that is how I am opening the site.

I am trying this on an existing LAB Server that co-hosts SAN Management and VMWare.  I will spin up a minty fresh OS and try it there.

On a newly minted LAB Win2008 OS the OMSA software does load.    I will have to investigate what is blocking it on the co-hosted LAB server.

On the new server however, after I save the Logs to disk (oma_x.zip - 105 KB) and try to open, the system says that the ZIP file is empty and will not extract/open.  Even though there are ~60 Events shown in the web-page.

No Events found!
