iDrac6 Firmware update operation is already in progress
I Have a Dell R610. My iDRAC is not works (is not pinging iDRAC IP address)
I don't know how much time my iDrac is not working, Did i try to upgrade BIOS, iDrac FIRMWARE, LifeCycle.
On POST boot screen "System Services Update Required"
I think that my server don't have USC, on this version/generation.
Some attempts that i did:
Configurate LAN parameters on DRAC options (CRTL+E on POST) > "after machine restarts, LAN parameters was reset to default factory"
FIRMWARE Upgrade in various versions (1.60, 1.90 e 1.96) from O.S. > says "A Firmware update operation is already in progress"
FIRMWARE Upgrade from Linux CentOS Dell DSET LiveCD > says "inventory Failure: Partition Failure - Creation of the dynamic partition has failed"
boot with SBUU + update firmware from SUU DVD > after reboot nothing changes
System Update Utility Firmware Update (version 1.67) from S.O. > Firmware Update in progress, wait 30 min > after EXIT CODE 1 Failure
Clear NVRAM from MB CMOS Jumper > try 5 times nothing changes, only BIOS loses all information
racadm racreset or racresetcfg > "A fimware update is currently in progress, unable to reset the RAC at this moment"
racadm fwupdate -g -u -a MY_TFTP_Server -d firmimg.d6 > "A Firmware update operation is already in progress"
One more important information, after monitoring network switch i do not found entries from iDRAC MAC Address
The iDrac6 module/card is broken?
any ideias?

Hello
The only thing you can do is try to clear the update. It looks like you have already reset defaults, cleared NVRAM, and attempted running the updates again. If you did not disconnect the power cables when you were clearing the NVRAM via jumper then I would suggest that you do it again and make sure to disconnect the power cables when moving the jumper. Leave the cables disconnected for at least 60 seconds each time to allow time for the flea power to drain.
If none of that works then the iDRAC express would need to be replaced. On this model the express card is included with the system board.
Thanks

Hello Daniel,
Yeah, i was disconnected power cable when moving the jumper, at least 3 times.
I don't remember but iDrac looks like Enterprise edition, is same of this photo:

If i replace this iDrac module/card, my problems with firmware will solve?

No, the enterprise card is just a bridge device. All of the logic is on the express card. I am not sure if the express card is removable or not. Since it is a standard component of the R610 it is sent with the system board. I don't have any information on removing the express card. It is not a part you can order from us.
Thanks

The express is replaceable and should likely fix the issue you're experiencing. You're probably going to have to buy it used from somewhere that sells used parts though. It is that tiny black piece right in front of the idrac enterprise thats being held down by the metal clips.
