"./SMBIOS.MDM bad CRC ..." on PE1950 running SAS/SATA Firmware Update Utility A33

Hi,

I'm trying to run disk firmware updates on a couple of disks plugged into a PE1950 II, basically when the CD tries to boot, it gives the following errors:

./SMBIOS.MDM BAD CRC c8fe52bc should be ac330363

At which point, it continues to boot the CD, until i attempt to start the update process, when it spits out:

abnormal program termination: memory protection fault

CS:EIP=0084h:00004E13h

1 archive had fatal errors

I've tried three sets of different memory, no luck.  What's the deal?

Thanks,

-MT

Hello MT

The errors indicate an issue with the files on the CD. I would suggest downloading and burning the files again. If you are running a Windows OS then you can download this utility and run it from within the OS to update most SAS/SATA drives on the 1950:

Thanks

Interesting, i actually tested the CD in a PE2950 and it works fine in that system still, but I will try to re-download and burn it to a fresh CD.
