setting up an R410 with PERC S300
trying to install Windows Server 2012 R2 on this thing. I finally found the correct drivers for windows enabling it to actually see the Raid 5 configuration I had set up on the S300. Windows set up the partitions and copied all needed files to the Raid however when the R410 reboots, it does not even offer the S300 as a bootable device. I simply get an error stating no boot device. Then when pushing F11 to enter the UEFI boot manager, no S300...no raid disk to choose from .....all that is listed are the NIC cards. I saw a note somewhere that the on board SATA must be disabled ....that made no difference. Now what?

yes it does and have configured it as a raid 5. all four drives are active and working. When I booted from a usb drive and installed windows (after many tries finding the correct driver) windows copied all need files to the raid after creating the needed partitions. The windows attempted to reboot and finish the install from the raid but no dice.....I can not seem to find the correct BIOS/iDrac/USC configuration to allow boot from the S300

as I mentioned .....all that has been accomplished .....all I need now is for the motherboard to recognize the S300 as a boot device. when I press F11 during start up to enter the UEFI boot manager....the S300 is not shown

by default Windows Server 2012 R2 during install....can not see the S300. You must click the "add driver" button and use R294489 before it can find it

What does the boot sequence in the bios show? Page 61 https://downloads.dell.com/manuals/all-products/esuprt_ser_stor_net/esuprt_dell_adapters/poweredge-rc-s300_user%27s%20guide_en-us.pdf

I do not see a separate driver for Server 2012 R2, just the one that comes with Windows. When you boot to F11 the boot menu doesn’t have an option for hard drive?

per this article it is currently set to OFF
https://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/19/sln167703/11g-poweredge-server-onboard-s100-raid-controller-will-not-function-when-adding-a-perc-s300?lang=en
I originally had it set to AHCI
